Our History

The Crisis Center in Bristol, Virginia is a non-profit agency which has been helping thousands of citizens — for free- in our surrounding communities for over 40 years.

Since we began in 1973, we have grown from a hotline for teens into a capable expert agency providing a wide range of services dealing with a multitude of issues including:

• Sexual assault
• Domestic violence
• Stalking
• Abuse
• Neglect
• Suicide
• And much more

Clients are accepted regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexuality, nationality, disability, or age.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Crisis Center is to offer the communities we serve education, advocacy and intervention allowing individuals to find positive solutions for personal crises. Through support, hope and education we strive to restore emotional balance to both individuals and the communities in which they live.

Vision Statement

Rooted in respect, justice, hope, and the inherent worth of every individual, the Crisis Center partners with people to afford them a safe space to be heard, supported, and believed in an effort to inspire healing and promote positive change for both the individual and the community as a whole.
